Knowledge Required: Senior Level knowledge in Computer Science and a passion for aerospace.
Motivation: The CS teams will have a project priority to develop hardware and a graphic user interface specifically for telemetry and avionics associated with the recovery of the rocket.
Description:
The Capstone seniors will design, build and launch a rocket to reach a target altitude of 100,000 ft.
A team of 12 mechanical engineers will do propulsion, structures, aerodynamics and recovery/avionics. The mechanical engineering team will be collaborating with electrical engineering and computer science students to solve challenging recovery and telemetry problems. The rocket will be launched at the competition in Spaceport America in June 2018. Details of the competition can be found at www.soundingrocket.org .
Objectives: This project requires the participation of 3 CS students.
Deliverables: The CS teams will have a project priority to develop hardware and a graphic user interface specifically for telemetry and avionics associated with the recovery of the rocket.
