Description: PHAZE | IoT Weather Station
Harnessing the power of IoT (Internet of Things) open-source electronics, and data visualization, you will work with OPEnS Lab at OSU to develop a modular open-source weather station. PHAZE collects rainfall, solar radiation, humidity, temperature and sends this data wirelessly (LoRa radio) to a central internet hub. The hub uploads all data via Ethernet to Google drive and other online services like Plot.ly for researchers and students to access.
Objectives: • Design a Sonic Animometer to measure wind speed using ultrasound and integrate into PHAZE design
• Create a network of PHAZE devices and deploy in the HJ Andrews Research Forest
• Develop a Plot.ly site that provides access, analytics, and visualization of all PHAZE data collected in the forest.
