Question:

I finally got a hold of a laptop I can use for the class and after installing all of the necessary software I can't get my Powershell to compile and send the files to my Wunderboard. I've attached a screenshot of what happens when I use the make all command and the make program. I've also changed the executionpolicy to Remotesigned if that helps.

Response:

This is a very common issue in these labs. The problem is that the makefile is pointing to the wrong ATMEL Flip files. In your makeprogram command, you can see the error occurs since it can’t find the file. It is looking for Flip 3.4.1, but you most likely have Flip 3.4.5. You will have to edit your makefile. For me it is on line 46.

Depending on your system it should look like:

For x64 Windows
PROGRAM = "C:/Program Files (x86)/Atmel/Flip 3.4.5/bin/batchisp.exe"

For x86 Windows
PROGRAM = "C:/Program Files/Atmel/Flip 3.4.5/bin/batchisp.exe"

I would browse to the file to make sure that is the correct spot.

Some other common errors which cause the powershell to not compile:
- Wunderboard needs to be reset
- Powershell doesn't have the proper execution policy set up. (Run command as admin: "Set-ExecutionPolicy -executionPolicy RemoteSigned")
- The powershell profile is not digitally signed (fix by copying text into the same file name and save the file your self. Make sure the extension is correct.)
- The powershell profile is in the wrong location ("...\My Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Microsoft.PowerShell_profile.ps1")

Hope this helps,
Patrick
