Why Should Your Company be Involved?
Building relationships with universities who produce potential employees
just makes good business sense. By becoming involved in the school of
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), you can impact graduate
and undergraduate training while increasing your company's visibility
with our students.
Relationship building also makes sense from a research perspective.
Our faculty have wealth of expertise your organization can accesss.
It is often more cost-effective for companies to fund "blue-sky"
research project through a univeristy, than to do it internally. And
our faculty want to build industry relationships that better their students,
educationally and professionally.
Building Strategic Relationships
Relationships with EECS tend to fall into one or more of these categories.
- Research Relationships
--Industry Research Projects
--Research Center Membership
--Faculty Consulting
These relationships offer industry
access to knowledgeable EECS faculty and often, their graduate students.
Industry-relevant projects are typically done through individual faculty
memvers or an affiliated research center. These relationships involve
a higher investment than other relationships, but also tend to yield
more significant benefits.
- Education Relationships
--INSPiRE Industrial Affiliate
--Sponsor Senior Project
--Donations
--IEEE Seminars
Educational relationships generally require more time, but carry a
lowe investment than research relationships. This allows your organization
to invest in a student's educational experience and mentoring is often
involved. This relationship allows you to increase visibility, improve
student training and gain positive PR while evaluating potential employees.
- Personal Involvement
--Industrial Advisory Board
--Mentor Student Project
--Facilitate ECE Relationships
You or your company can always participate personally in the School
of EECS. Whether you mentor a student project or participate in the
Industrial Advisory Board, your time investment can make a difference.
