Instructions for programming and running a simple ramp and soak:

  1. Press the “Page Button” until you reach the program list (ProG LiSt).
  2. Press the “Scroll Button” to view the various settings and Verify that they are correct.  Use the “Up Arrow (▲) or Down Arrow (▼)” to modify the preliminary settings.  Below are the recommended preliminary settings for the controller:
    1. Holdback Type (“Hb”) – “bAnd"
    2. Holdback Value (“Hb.U”) – 30
    3. Ramp Units (“rmP.U”) – “SEc”
    4. Dwell Units (“dwL.U”) – “min”
  3. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “CYC.n”, if not, continue hitting the “Scroll button until you find “CYC.n”.  This is the number of times (or cycles) that the program will be repeated.  This is normally set to 1.
  4. Setup the ramp.
    1. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “SEG.n”.  The lower portion of the display should read “1”.  This allows modification of the first “segment” of the ramp and soak.
    2. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “tYPE".  There are 5 types, Ramp (rmP.r, rmP.t), Soak/dwell (dwEll), step (StEP), and end.  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to select rmP.r, the linear ramp at a set rate.
    3. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “tGt”.  This is the target setpoint.  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to modify this value.
    4. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “rAtE".  Set the desired ramp rate.  The units are °C/sec.  Note that the ramp units can be changed (“rmP.U”).
  5. Setup the soak (dwell) characteristics.
    1. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “SEG.n”.  The lower portion should be set to 2.
    2. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “tYPE".  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to select “dwEll”.
    3. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “dur”.  This is the duration of the soak (in minutes).  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to modify this value.
  6. End the program.
    1. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “SEG.n”.  The lower portion should be set to 3.
    2. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “tYPE".  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to select “End”.
    3. Press the “Scroll button”.  The upper portion of the display should read “End.t”.  There are three options here, a continuous soak (“dwEll”), an abrupt end “S OP”, and reset (“rSET”), which resets the program and runs it again.  Use the “Up Arrow (▲)/Down Arrow (▼)” to modify this value to “S OP”.  If you do not choose this, you will have to manually stop the program once it has been run.
  7. Press the Run/Hold Button (●).
  8. The “RUN” light will illuminate.  Once the program is complete, it will flash.  Press the Run/Hold Button (●) and hold it for 2 seconds to stop the program.
