Solar Vehicle Team to compete in international track race
The Oregon State Solar Vehicle Team (OSUSVT) is headed to Austin, Texas for the 2013 Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP), an international track race. Since its creation, the OSUSVT has expanded in numbers and now includes engineering graduate and undergraduate students with a variety of interests in science and business. College of Engineering

Corvallis, Eugene both make list of 'Brainiest Cities'
Luminosity, developers of online brain training exercises, released a study unveiling the "Top 100 Brainiest Cities in the United States". They used statistics measuring cognitive faculties like memory, problem solving skills and information processing speeds to determine the rankings. The study ranked Corvallis at 22nd overall smartest city in the nation, alongside many other college towns. KVAL

KUDOS

Congratulations to the OSU Solar Vehicle Team, took first place in the 2013 Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP) at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX. Their car went 193 laps (661 miles) over three days. The Oregon State team was also honored with the Sportsmanship award for their assistance to other teams for the second year in a row.

AfterCollege Succurro Scholarship
AfterCollege is proud to offer this $1,000 scholarship, available for any student currently pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in any discipline. Application deadline: June 30, 2013. Details

Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship
The scholarship carries a stipend of up to US$24,000 and is awarded for one year of full-time graduate work toward a master's in electrical engineering at an engineering school of recognized standing located in the United States. To be eligible, the student must be a permanent resident of the United States, have majored in the field of electrical engineering, and have received a bachelor's degree from an engineering college of recognized standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year full-time graduate student only. Application deadline: November 15. Details
