SCHOLARSHIPS/FELLOWSHIPS

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FERMILAB). The John Bardeen Engineering Fellowship is designed to provide entry-level opportunities for outstanding engineering graduates who are interested in working in a cutting edge research environment. Fermilab provides opportunities in the fields of electrical, electronics, radio frequency systems, power distribution, super-conducting magnets, mechanical, material science, cryogenic, and civil engineering. Details.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a 12-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program providing hands-on research experience in any one of its several measurement and standards laboratories. The program is open to all United States citizens or permanent residents. Students should be undergraduates at a U.S. university or college with a scientific major, a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or better, intend to pursue a Ph.D., and must be covered by a health insurance plan (either through school or family). Details.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, CHCI Public Policy Fellowship Program (graduate students) offers up to 22 promising Latinos from across the fifty U.S. States and Puerto Rico the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the national level in the public policy area of their choice. CHCI also aims to develop leaders in the areas of public health administration, telecommunications policy, corporate-public interest, and in the area of law. Details.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Scholarships for Undergraduate Students. DADD New York is pleased to announce that we will again offer the special program in Munich for engineering students from the US and Canada. Venue and organizer of the course is the prestigious Technische Universitat Munchen. The curriculum encompasses a German language component; specialized subject seminars and workshops in engineering and life sciences; project work and lectures on intercultural communications (in English/German); and German and European history and culture. Site visits to high tech and traditional industrial sites in and around Munich complement the program. Details.
