Central Lincoln People’s Utility has an opening for a Systems Engineer. Performs highly technical engineering studies, and design system improvements which are highly complex in nature. Performs technical studies such as load flow, voltage regulation, fault current, power factor, etc. Design, prepare specifications, estimate costs, prepare and evaluate bids, and supervise construction of major system improvements. The candidate will be inheriting an ongoing software project for the Cereal Genetics Laboratory at OSU. They will be taking over development of a database application for the viewing, editing, and interpretation of stored plant information, as well as maintaining, updating, and installing a final production MySQL server that will be used to store all necessary plant information currently being held in Excel spreadsheets. The student will be fairly autonomous with weekly update meetings with necessary stakeholders in the Lab and development work being done on their own schedule. Details. Undergraduate Science and Engineering Internships in Germany. RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) offers a unique internship model, giving North American students in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology and Physics the chance to spend a summer working with German doctoral students on serious research projects. The doctoral students help integrate the undergraduate directly into the lab work and serve as personal and professional mentors. This year, the RISE database contains a record total of 505 internship openings at the top research institutions (e.g. Max-Planck and Fraunhofer Institutes) and universities in Germany. Details.
