The mission of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) is to advance the information sciences and related applications of information technology by providing focus, opportunity, and support to information professionals and organizations. The ProQuest Doctoral Dissertation Award was established in 1974 and is administered by the Information Science Education Committee. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding recent doctoral candidates whose research contributes significantly to an understanding of some aspect of information science. Details.

Job Positions available with the TaskTracer project, OSU Computer Science - Undergraduate Research Assistants - Software Developers. We have immediate openings for undergraduate research assistants at all levels (freshman through senior) to assist on the TaskTracer project. We are specifically looking for Software Developers, who will design and develop software for the Microsoft Windows operating system, from adding hooks into the operating system to developing user interfaces for TaskTracer in .NET. We will consider very bright students who have minimal experience but substantial potential. Details.

Systems Engineer II, Novellus. This position is for a recent, or soon-to-be college graduate. If you did not graduate from an accredited college between May 2006 and June 2007, please do not apply. We are looking for an entry-level electrical engineer who is independent and adaptable. The candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of electrical tests and evaluations of our products. C++ programmer. Would you like to get valuable, real world experience in software engineering? Corvallis-based Universal Telecom is looking for a part-time developer to assist in creating an exciting new software platform. This developer will assist with the software design, construction, release and QA processes for a peer-to-peer software project. FishTail Design Automation. Primary responsibility is to pre and post sales product support. Will be expected to perform product presentations and demonstrations, answer inquiries, manage evaluations, and generally assure that prospective customers have a positive experience and gain a full understanding of the capabilities and benefits of FishTail's ground-breaking products for automatic generation and verification of timing constraints. Technical tasks will include generating and verifying timing exceptions using FishTail's products, importing these constraints into major chip-implementation tool suites, resolving any integration issues, and obtaining metrics on design QoR improvement. Cirrus Logic, Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer. Full time positions are available for recent alumni as well as current MSEE and PhDEE students planning to graduate from Spring 2007 to Spring 2008. In this position you will be responsible for designing CMOS analog blocks for AtoD and DtoA converters for Cirrus Logic's market leading Industrial, Mixed Signal Audio and Embedded applications. You will participate in all aspects of the design--architectural development; transistor level design and circuit simulation; layout supervision for the analog subsections for your project; simulation of the IC from transistor level to systems level and lab validation. Electrical Engineering Intern, Advanced Navigation and Positioning. This person will be responsible for taking a previously modeled communications system in Matlab and implementing it in a DSP-based transceiver. This person will work closely with hardware and software design engineers. Details.

Software Engineering Intern, Advanced Navigation and Positioning. This person will be responsible for developing software for tools that support the development and analysis of data for the system. The tools will be primarily coded in C++. The ideal candidate will have had classes in C++ and would be familiar with developing MFC applications. Details.

Hardware Technician Intern, Advanced Navigation and Positioning. As a member of the h/w engineering team responsible for the development of a new avionics tracking and guidance system, tasks will include Support for design as well as documentation and test; Responsible for assembly, test and debug at both a circuit board and system level; Work may also include schematic capture and circuit board design. The Intel System Validation team is a fast paced team of skilled engineers focusing on functional and electrical validation for new cutting edge Intel� chipsets involving CPU, memory, I/O interfaces, and graphics. Basically, it is this team's job to make sure there aren't any architectural, functional, or electrical issues with new chipset designs prior to release. In this position, you will be working closely with design, marketing, and major customers to make the product successful. The main focus is development of chipset validation capabilities (hardware and software), developing and executing test plans, and debugging silicon issues. Details.

Internship opportunity at HP. My group is looking for a student intern to help us with a new project. We are responsible for incubating new businesses and are prototyping a next generation interactive display system for signage applications.
