Toward 2020: Addressing Tomorrow's Problems Today (an Austin Entrepreneurship Program event). May 3, 2007, The Governor Hotel, Portland, Oregon. Keynote Speaker: Jeff Wike, Dreamworks Animation: "Creativity and Innovation Take Digital Animation to New Heights." Keynote speakers and panelists will address the role of creativity and innovation from several perspectives: private industry, government, and education. Plan to attend the second annual Women in Aviation Careers Conference on Saturday April 14, 2007 at the Flight Technology Center at the Eugene Airport! This free three-part conference will focus on women in aviation and the future of the space industry. Guests include former WASPS, 99’s, and Rosie the Riveters as well as women involved in contemporary aviation. An open forum will provide opportunities for photos and one-on-one discussions with guests. Advance registration is not required. Details.

ECE alumnus Adriaan Smit and PhD student Robert Batten have created the WavyWand, a high tech toy that uses light to create fun images. The toy was featured on HGTV's special presentation on the 2006 New York City Toy Fair and was named novelty toy of the year by Creative Child magazine. KGW-TV video report. OSU news release.

TaskTracer is a next generation information management system for the desktop. We are specifically looking for Software Developers, who will design and develop software, from adding hooks into the operating system to developing user interfaces for TaskTracer. Details.

Java Developer - Conducive Technology Corp. is a leading provider of worldwide flight performance information to the global travel and transportation industries. We are searching for Java Developers for our downtown Portland office. In this role, the successful candidate will develop and enhance our consumer web applications, business intelligence platform, and flight monitoring systems. Details.

Local public charity called Life Seeds is in need of an intern to volunteer to develop a website for our organization. We could also use the services of a volunteer to create a half page or full page monthly newsletter for our supporters. Sales Engineer, Analog Devices. This position will initially undergo a comprehensive training and rotation program. After completion of this training, they will be deployed to their specific region. The primary objective of the sales engineer is to maximize future revenue at assigned accounts assignment by maximizing ADI's share into the customer's end products. Details.

Web Developer (Information Technology Consultant) – University Housing. Designs and develops web-based systems and database applications provides support and training for developed applications. Requires knowledge and skills in technology and information systems as generally obtained through an associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience; at lease one year of experience developing in PHP, MySQL, XHTML/HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; knowledge of Linux, OS X Server and/or other *ix operating as server. Software engineer, Tripod Data Systems. Work with teams of outstanding software developers on various projects and lead a small team of engineers when needed. The main responsibilities will be design and implement advanced mapping and graphic applications for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Geodetic Survey and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) running on handheld or other data collection platforms and positioning devices.
