The VLSI Research Group at Sun Labs seeks to identify and remove looming bottlenecks to the continued rapid progress in VLSI design. We nurture a culture of excellence and innovation. Historically, our group made significant advances and provided foundational understanding to the field of asynchronous computer systems. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District is currently seeking applicants from graduate engineers for an entry level position. The position is targeted for eventual placement with the Portland Resident Office, which is in need of an engineer in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering Management. The person selected for this job will enter into our unique Engineer-in-Training program, which includes the opportunity to work in several of our departments over the course of the first 12 months to really learn our organization and become introduced to the vast variety of work we do. Undergraduate research internship with the NSF funded Battery-free Wireless Sensor Network in Complex Terrain. We have several funded undergraduate research positions available beginning immediately. We seek a diverse group of students interested in climate sensor technology, computer science and database management, hydrology, botany, environmental science, ecohydrology, and/or forest physiology. The students will work closely with project PIs (Battery-free Wireless Sensors in Complex Terrain), graduate students, and other undergraduate REU students both in the laboratory setting and in the field (HJA Experimental Forest WS01). Quality Engineer, GemStone. GemStone Systems is seeking a motivated, MS Computer Science graduate to work as a Quality Engineer on the Enterprise Data Fabric engineering team. Tillamook People, ENGINEERING FIELD REPRESENTATIVE. White’s Electronics, in Sweet Home Oregon, a world leader in the design and production of metal detectors is looking for an embedded control intern to work with our engineering department this summer. The job involves translating, a complex, integer based, math oriented, assembly language program for a PIC16xxx processor into IAR C code for the TI MSP430 series. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the innards of these processors while sharpening your wits by solving many intricate puzzles. Details.

WebMD is looking for both entry level web developers and interns. Work with the latest Internet technology to develop our Web-based health management products. This entry-level position requires a BS in Computer Science and experience in Web development, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL. Electrical Engineering Intern, Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Hydroelectric Design Center. I am madly looking for talented students in the area of web site work---specifically, writing code in XHTML and PHP in helping the credit union with an extensive website update that needs to happen here in the month of June. My web site developer with the credit union has most of the wireframes in place and is looking for workforce hours to get the many pages coded and ready to go before the month is done to meet deadlines. The Academic Success Center is now recruiting tutors for its Supplemental Instruction Program. The Supplemental Instruction Program provides weekly facilitated study tables for students in selected high-risk courses (math 111 and 112, physics 201-203, ZOO 331-333). In the program, tutors are paid to attend the class lectures and then run small group study tables for students in the class. Details.

Summer EE Job at Powercast. This position requires working with engineering to design, build, and test wireless power receiver and transmitter concepts that support sales and marketing activities. He/She will perform schematic capture and layout activities to design a printed circuit board, research and identify components that comprise the circuit, develop a test plan encompassing performance and efficiency, as well as execute the test plan and document/investigate deviations from the desired performance.
