OPPORTUNITIES

The Memorial Union Program Council is pleased to announce the 19th annual Women's Leadership Conference will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Memorial Union. A daylong event designed to inspire and motivate women students, this conference will consist of a keynote speaker, two breakout sessions with multiple presenters, and a luncheon. All sessions will reflect the theme "Changes, Challenges, Choices." If you are interested in this event, the School of EECS will gladly nominate you for participation in the conference. Please stop by the front desk in Kelley 1148 no later than December 14 to be included in the School's nomination.

The ODOT Research Unit has a longstanding relationship with faculty at OSU on various transportation research projects, ranging from bridges and pavements to construction management and economic analyses. The Innovative Partnerships Program is looking for students interested in exploring a design project on the use of solar panels on highway structures such as sound walls and bridges. The University of Texas at Austin has a Software Engineering Graduate Student Scholars Program that offers a stipend and tuition while working with faculty as part of our EDGE research center. We are looking for the brightest students to vent, explore, and revolutionize how we engineer and use software systems. Details

The Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars (LARSS) Program is managed for NASA by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium under the auspices of the National Institute of Aerospace. The LARSS program is a 10-week summer internship at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) that benefits rising undergraduate juniors and seniors, and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, computer science, atmospheric science, astrophysics, physics, chemistry, or selected aerospace disciplines of interest to LaRC. Portland General Electric is seeking a degreed mechanical engineer (or EE with experience in HVAC and Energy Management) to join the Customer Technical Services team which is headquartered in downtown Portland. This temporary position will promote the wise and efficient use of energy in Commercial and Industrial sectors adding value to customers. Technically support PGE’s ETO marketing initiatives and personnel advocating for the customer and facilitating their participation in appropriate ETO energy efficiency programs. Details

Technical Marketing Engineer, Ensequence. The Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) will work with Product Management and Engineering on enhancing the company's products and strategies for interactive TV and video markets. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining demo interactive television applications using the Ensequence software suite, demo dashboards and the software infrastructure to support running demo applications on both traveling and office-based demo systems. Senior Product Manager, Ensequence. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining the product vision, roadmap and requirements based on a solid understanding of the markets, customers, competitors and future trends. This person must work in partnership with Engineering to identify product development priorities using agile methodologies, and ensure that products meet or exceed market requirements and are delivered to market in a timely manner. The Senior Product Manager is also responsible for driving the product positioning and assisting the product marketing manager with external sales and marketing efforts as necessary. Details
