ANNOUNCEMENTS
---------------------------------------------------

Phishing is a type of deception designed to steal your valuable personal data, such as credit card numbers, passwords, account data, or other information. Con artists might send millions of fraudulent e-mail messages that appear to come from Web sites you trust, like your bank or credit card company, and request that you provide personal information.

Recently, there have been several reports of people receiving an e-mail with the subject "Update YOUR Oregonstate EMAIL NOW," followed by instructions to send account information (including password) to an external address. This is a phishing attempt and is not real.

Please do not respond to the message. Delete it immediately. If you have responded to an email like this, contact your IT support personnel for assistance.
