Brown University is happy to announce a 2-day workshop sponsored by CRA-W and CDC focused on computer architecture, with a particular emphasis on the emerging prevalence of parallel computing. The workshop is targeted in particular for undergraduate women and under-represented minorities currently enrolled as juniors or seniors in computer science or computer engineering programs; however freshman, sophomores, as well as undergrads majoring in other related fields are also welcome to apply. A representative from Intel will be on campus May 13, 11 am to conduct an informational session and then talk to students directly after the presentation. Students can drop by the Career Services Center in the basement of Kerr Administration Building and speak with the representative until around 2 pm. Intel HPC Operations group has a position that may be of interest to a graduating CIS or CIT student. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. It is posted for a recent college graduate (RCG), meaning someone who has graduated in the last year, or will graduate this year. This will be an applications programming and systems support position in HPC operations.
