An Otherworldly Challenge. The core members of the OSU student team that won the 2008 University Rover Challenge could have been characters in an action movie. OSU feature story

OSU's Rain Dancer fulfills Solar Challenge. Hillsboro has staked claim as a solar industry hub, with SolarWorld's arrival and the courting of others for its new industrial parks. But the city has another link to solar innovation, a home-grown one too. Kathy VanWormer, a 2000 graduate of Century High School, along with her husband, Hai Yue Han, a Westview graduate, were the forces behind Rain Dancer, Oregon State University's entry in the 2008 American Solar Challenge.
