SAO Corvallis Tech Pub. Search Engine Marketing Hot Seat: Expert Panel Review of Local E-Commerce Websites. Thursday, September 11, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Hewlett-Packard Campus. SCHOLARSHIPS/FELLOWSHIPS

Student research grants & internships are awarded each year to undergraduate and graduate university students through the American Public Power Association's Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments (DEED) Program. Ten $4000 Student Research Grants/Internships are available to students to conduct research on energy related projects or work at DEED member utilities. One $5000 Technical Design Project (Research Grant) is available to a student or group of students working on an energy related project. This scholarship is geared towards engineering students working on their senior

The RF Signal Processing and Modeling Branch at the Army Research Labs (part of the RF & Electronics Division in the Sensor and Electron Devices Directorate) are looking for qualified electronics engineers to carry out basic and applied research aimed at developing novel RF systems for the detection, location, tracking, identification, and exploitation of uncooperative targets in difficult backgrounds. They are looking for someone with a background in RF signal and image processing, electromagnetics and RF measurements. Details

E&S is looking for someone to help us with our computers and network. This would be part time, 10-20 hrs/wk, probably starting sometime near the end of September. The job would entail keeping about 7-9 computers (desktop and laptop) functioning properly, organizing (or reorganizing) and maintaining a small LAN, organizing and maintaining backups of the office computers, assisting some less-than-expert users with problems they might encounter with email, printing, etc. and generally helping us to optimize our use of our computers and office network. We use an agile software development process to prioritize usability in our interface, while practicing such techniques as collective code ownership, continuous integration, and test-driven development. Some of the technologies we use include ColdFusion (primarily), PHP, MSSQL, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX. We develop all of our applications following the MVC design pattern so experience developing MVC based applications is a plus. Details

Sr. Applications Engineer, Maxtek Components Corporation. The Sr. Applications Engineer is to play a key role in developing new product concepts by working closely with customers. Much of this work will be in support of capturing new business. The position requires a thorough understanding of HF electronic circuit design and microelectronic packaging/module technologies. The ability to provide technical guidance in analyzing and using new technologies is expected, as well as understanding the future product requirements of strategic market segments. Details
