Teach For America Information Session
Tuesday, October 28, 6:00 pm, Memorial Union room 213
Teach For America is a non-profit that enlists our nation’s future leaders in the fight against educational inequity. We ask high achievers from all academic majors to do their part to close the achievement gap by teaching for two years in a low-income community. After those two years, many of our teachers take those lessons on to leadership within education, law, medicine, business, and a host of other professions. In order to address the systemic problems in education, we need leaders in all sectors to have the insight that comes with teaching for two years in these situations. Because of this, we’ve developed extensive partnerships with graduate schools and corporations like Deloitte and Google to help transition our teachers into those sectors after their commitment.
