OSU, UO Gain Support For “Green Materials” Center. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon have received a three-year, $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to form a new Center for Green Materials Chemistry, a reflection of nationally recognized programs in Oregon that should lead to advanced electronics with a reduced environmental footprint, higher performance and lower cost. The Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP) is designed to provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in research, under the guidance of an appropriate research mentor, at a participating Navy laboratory. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is the full spectrum research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E), engineering, and fleet support center for air platforms. The product test areas include aircraft systems (manned and unmanned), airborne technology, propulsion, flight test and engineering, avionics design and production, and crew systems and aircraft-platform interface. The AT&T Labs Fellowship Program (ALFP) is the opportunity of a lifetime. The ALFP program awards a three-year fellowship and is contingent on an annual review demonstrating that the recipients are making satisfactory progress toward their PhD. Each fellowship recipient participates in a research summer internship during their first summer in the program. During the summer, students work as a part of research teams on various projects within AT&T Labs. Details

Dartmouth College invites applications for the Cesar Chavez / Charles A. Eastman / Thurgood Marshall Dissertation Fellowships from US citizens who plan careers in college or university teaching. The goal of the Chavez / Eastman / Marshall fellowship program is to promote student and faculty diversity at Dartmouth, and throughout higher education, by supporting completion of the doctorate by underrepresented minority scholars (including African-American, Latina/o, and Native American scholars) and other graduate scholars with a demonstrated commitment and ability to advance educational diversity. The Fellowships support graduate scholars for a year-long residency at Dartmouth that generally runs from September through August. Details

ODOT will fill a slot in the Graduate Engineering Program with an Electrical Engineering graduate. This is a VERY RARE opportunity for a new graduate to take part in a two year professional development rotation which provides a salary, full time benefits and qualifying time towards a professional engineering license. Selected graduates embark on a 12 to 24 month rotational program of on-the-job training which is designed in conjunction with a mentor who will be assigned to the participant for the duration of the program. Dynamic website development for genome project. We are looking for a student to help in organizing and presenting genomic DNA sequence information on a website. The project deals with large lists of sorted information that need to be organized and sorted further for interpretation. Some knowledge of biology and genetics would be helpful but not essential.
