OPPORTUNITIES
---------------------------------------------------

We wanted to make sure that OSU Staff and Students are all aware of the upcoming Willamette Angel conference, a business plan competition/angel conference that is fostering Entrepreneurship and Investment in the Willamette Valley. It will be held May 14th in Corvallis. We are actively soliciting start-ups and entrepreneurs to submit their business plans for the competition. We would love to see more local participation, and student groups are welcome to enter.

The last day for business plan submissions is March 13th, but the earlier a submission is made, the more resources and mentoring are available to help improve the plan and presentation. Please pass this information on to anyone who might be interested in participating. More information can be found at www.WillametteConference.com. Specific questions can be addressed to Katherine Cleland (Katherine@ClelandMarketing.com) or John Sechrest (sechrest@corvallisedp.com).

Course Portfolios
Thursday, March 12, 2:00-3:00 pm, Milam 215
Course portfolios are powerful tools for capturing and making visible the intellectual work that faculty engage in as they plan their learning outcomes and teach to these outcomes. This workshop will introduce two types of course portfolios constructed to document and track student learning in a specific course over time. By conducting an in-depth analysis of the teaching and learning process, the course portfolio endeavors to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning. Presented by Dr. Kathleen Lloyd. Register at http://oregonstate.edu/ctl/registration_form.html.
