PRO SCHOOL APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR FALL, 2009! Applications are now available for students applying to Pro-School for Fall, 2009.

If you have any questions regarding your eligibility for admission, please contact your academic advisor directly.

Applications are now available for the 2009-2010 MECOP/CECOP Internship Program. Applications are DUE BY APRIL 10. If you have specific questions about the MECOP/CECOP program you may contact them directly at: mecop@engr.orst.edu. Details

The Engineering Expo is just around the corner! The College of Engineering is looking for engineering students who are willing to volunteer before, at, and after the event on May 14 and 15. Volunteer Opportunity! OMSI DaVinci Days! Join OSU engineering students assist middle school students at the Tsunami Structure Challenge using the portable wave tank and legos. Over 4,000 middle school students and families expected for this event. Share the excitement of engineering!
All majors welcome! You will receive training, and you will have a great time!
Training Tues March 31 4-5pm at the Wave Lab (35th St).
The event is on Sat. April 4: all day

Clara Simerville Award for 2009-2010
Nominations are now being accepted for the Clara L. Simerville Award for International Education, recognizing an outstanding undergraduate student at Oregon State University.

Dr. Simerville, Professor Emeritus of International Education and Foreign Student Counselor from 1955-1970, firmly believed in international education and the necessity for cross-cultural understanding in our independent world. She worked diligently to assist OSU students, faculty and staff in understanding other cultures.

The Clara Simerville Award will be given in her honor to an OSU undergraduate student who has voluntarily contributed to international understanding through personal relationships, scholarship and research, and involvement in campus or community organizations supporting international understanding.

Students may be nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators or members of the Corvallis community.

Please contact Cynthia Cox at Cynthia.cox2@oregonstate.edu for a nomination form. Nominations are due by April 06 ,2009. Selection will be made by a committee and the award will be presented at the Student Recognition and Awards Banquet in May.

  • Eligibility: All OSU undergraduates in all disciplines and fields of study
  • Presentation format: Posters, table-top displays and floor installations
  • CASH PRIZES will be awarded for the best presentations
  • Works in-progress and projects for which you served as a contributing member of a larger faculty-led project are strongly encouraged
  • Groups of students may present a single, collaborative project (but submit only one application)
  • OSU student projects completed somewhere other than OSU are also eligible

Presenting academic and creative work in a formal setting is a mark of true accomplishment in your undergraduate studies. You’ll receive a certificate of presentation, and you may include your presentation on resumes, graduate school and scholarship applications. Apply to present no later than April 10!

Master of Financial Engineering, University of Hawai'i Shidler College of Business
The qualifications for the MFE program are an excellent score on the quantitative part of the GRE exam. Great academic grades and academic, professional achievement is also taken into account. We have $250,000 in scholarship money for candidates whose qualifications are exceptional. Our facilities are state of the art equipped with the latest software such as MATLAB, Visual Studio Pro 2008, access to a Bloomberg terminal, etc.

The application deadline is April 1 (International Student Admission), & May 1 (Domestic Student Admission).

SCHOLARSHIPS/FELLOWSHIPS

C. E. Boucher Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be attending the School of Engineering at the University of Washington, Washington State University, University of Oregon, or Oregon State University and (a) have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale), (b) are Oregon or Washington State residents, and (c) plan to use the award in the next academic year. Up to five scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded. Awards are one-time only. Deadline is March 20. Details

The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) - the organization to which Helen Keller devoted her life - is a national nonprofit whose mission is to ensure that the ten million Americans who are blind or visually impaired enjoy the same rights and opportunities as other citizens. The Paul and Ellen Ruckes Scholarship provides one scholarship of $1,000 to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student studying in the field of engineering or in computer, physical, or life sciences.
