Prospective Students

The Applied Magnetics group is looking for motivated, creative and hardworking students interested in post-doctoral and graduate-level research in magnetic devices.

If you are applying to graduate school for Fall 2009, and are interested in applied magnetics research please note the following:

Applications sent directly to faculty in the Applied Magnetics group will not be considered. To apply to Oregon State University, the students are advised to follow the guidelines available at http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/.
You are strongly encouraged to review the research projects currently being pursued in the Applied Magnetics Laboratory. In your statement of purpose, indicate the projects of interest to you and describe your research ideas that will contribute to the ongoing work.
Please include complete references (including title, authors, journal, page numbers and year of publication) for the reading you have done in support of your research ideas.
You may contact faculty in the Applied Magnetics group for their comment, prior to the application deadline, once you have completed your statement of purpose. Please note that your statement must be in English, and proofread to ensure correct spelling and grammar.
Recommended GPA for applicants from the following institutions:
Exceptions to the above criteria for academic excellence will be considered only if supported with 3 strong letters of recommendation from the applicant's present institution.
