Steps to Graduation

How do I apply to graduate?
Each student must apply to graduate at least one term prior to your intended graduation term. To do this, you must:
- Make sure that you are officially in the correct majors/minors in order to apply to graduate.
- If you need to change your major/minor/degree you can do so by using the … form (pink sheet from Registrar), which may require program approvals (e.g. a change in College of Engineering major requires review by your new program Head Advisor and the Associate Dean.)
- Submit your Application to Graduate through Student Online Services.
- The final date to apply to graduate for each term is listed on the Academic Calendar.
How do I check whether my academic plan meets my graduation requirements?
- Meet with the EECS Head Advisor or your Academic Advisor three (3) terms in advance of your intended graduation term – by the beginning of Fall term for Spring term graduates.
- If you expect to earn a minor, second major, or an additional degree you must check with the department that offers that credential to review your remaining requirements.
Can I walk in the June commencement ceremonies if I am not graduating during Spring term?
- Students are eligible to participate in both the School of EECS graduation and the OSU commencement ceremony if they complete their degree requirements in one of the following terms:
- Spring Term
- Summer Term
- Fall Term
- Remember, students who plan to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony must apply to graduate (for whichever of those three terms) by the Spring term graduation deadline.
