Choose a CS Option
CS Options
- All CS students must select one of three options prior to applying for the professional program (ProSchool). Since each program has slightly different course requirements, the sooner you select your option the better!
- CS options WILL show on your transcript and your degree.
- To declare your CS Option, use the Change of Major form listing one of the following options (and codes):
CS Options:
- Computer Systems Option (Code 334)
- The only option that is ABET accredited
- The “default” and best place to start if unsure
- Best for students wanting a career in programming, or to continue on to graduate school or research
- Information Systems Option (Code 344)
- Must complete a Business and Entrepreneurship minor
- Best for students wanting to get an MBA, or start their own company
- Fewer math and no physics courses
- Applied Computer Science Option (Code 354)
- Must complete 32 credits of coursework that revolves around a theme related to CS
- Must be approved in advance by the curriculum committee
- Several Pre-Approved Applied Options include:
