EECS Student Services Office

The EECS Student Services office focuses on academic planning and assistance, career guidance, program and graduation requirements, professional program admission, graduation verification, and general support for undergraduate students in the Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science (CS) programs.

FALL TERM ADVISING PROCESS FOR WINTER PINS

The fall term advising process for winter term registration has been completed.   

Students who still need their PIN for winter term registration should follow the instructions below.

For Those Who Submitted an Academic Plan on Time and Attended a Presentation
Students who submitted their printed 2009-2011 academic plan by the October 23rd due date and attended one of the EECS Advising Presentations either received their PIN for winter term registration or received instructions on how to obtain their registration PIN. 

Students whose academic plan instructed them to meet with their advisor should update their academic plan and schedule an advising appointment.  Students who do not remember who their advisor is can email eecsundergrad.info@oregonstate.edu requesting the name of their advisor.  The email should include the student’s name and OSU ID number.

For Those Who Submitted an Academic Plan on Time but did NOT Attend a Presentation
Students who submitted a printed 2009-2011 academic plan by the October 23rd due date but were unable to attend an advising presentation can pick up their academic plan starting Monday, November 16.  Plans will be available in the EECS Student Services office (KEC 1148).  Students will need to show photo ID to pick up their plan.

For Those Who Submitted an Academic Plan at a Presentation
Students who submitted a printed 2009-2011 academic plan at one of the advising presentations will be able to pick it up from the EECS Student Service office (KEC 1148) on Wednesday, November 25.  Students will need to show photo ID to pick up their plan.

For Those Who have not Submitted an Academic Plan
Students who have not submitted a printed 2009-2011 academic plan should submit one to the EECS Student Services office by Monday, November 23.  Plans will be reviewed and available for pick up on Thursday, December 3.  Students will need to show photo ID to pick up their plan.


NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

Current OSU Students
Non-EECS students currently enrolled at OSU wishing to switch into the School of EECS should come to the EECS Student Services Office (KEC 1148) between the hours of 8:00am - noon, Monday - Friday, to officially change majors. Students will be assigned to an advisor after a review of their academic file has been completed by the School of EECS. If admitted into the School of EECS, students must complete the Online Orientation for New and Transfer EECS Students before meeting with their assigned advisor.

Incoming OSU Students for winter 2010
Students starting at OSU in winter 2010 must attend a winter orientation session known as START. PINs for winter term registration will be issued at the START session.

More information about the winter START program will be provided at a later date. In the meantime, please contact eecsundergrad.info@oregonstate.edu for more information.

All ECE students who do not complete their Science, Technology, and Society Synthesis requirement prior to fall 2009 must take CS 391 to complete this requirement.

ENGR 299 ST/Engineering Management
This course will be offered spring 2009 and will substitute for ENGR 390. Students planning to take ENGR 390 in spring 2009 should take ENGR 299 ST/Engineering Managment instead.
