To be admitted to the program, regardless of their undergraduate major, students must demonstrate proficiency in the following topics:

  • Computer Programming
  • Linear Algebra
  • Calculus
  • Probability and Statistics

Proficiency and skills can be demonstrated in multiple ways such as coursework, research papers, work experience, and GitHub repositories.

Because the AI program is still pending final approval, students who would like to be considered for the 2021-22 academic year should:

  1. Apply to computer science or electrical and computer engineering program with AI as one of their preferred areas of concentration,
  2. Clearly state in their Statement of Purpose their desire to be admitted to the AI program, and
  3. Summarize in their Statement of Purpose the credentials that support their preparation for the AI degree including how they satisfy the above proficiency requirements.

Please note that students will only be admitted to one program (i.e., AI, CS or ECE). They may be able to change to a different program or add on other programs after they are admitted based on availability.
