Rebecca Hutchinson was most recently a postdoctoral fellow at Oregon State University. She is affiliated with both the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society under a SEES fellowship (Science, Engineering, and Education for Sustainability) from the National Science Foundation. Before coming to Oregon State, she earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was an NSF graduate research fellow, and she received a B.S.E. in Computer Science from Bucknell University. Her current research develops machine learning methods for ecological problems like species distribution modeling and link prediction for species interaction networks.

Research Interests

Latent variable models, semi-parametric methods, network analysis, model evaluation strategies, with applications in ecology.
