Jesse Walker joined the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at OSU after retiring from Intel Corporation, where he served as the company’s chief cryptographer for a decade. During his industry career he discovered the WEP vulnerabilities in July 2000 and led the design of WPA and WPA2 replacing it; from 2007–2010 he worked on the team that co-designed the SHA3 finalist hash algorithm Skein. He is interested in networking, systems security, cryptography, commutative algebra, and algebraic geometry.
