Eric L. Vogel is an instructor in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Ecampus online-ony program. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.

Eric spent 43 years in the tech industry developing new consumer electronics products, initially as a software engineer but ultimately spending most of his career as a project manager for both hardware and software products. He led the design, development, manufacturing, and launch of calculators, data collectors, smartphones, notebook computers, electrical test equipment, fingerprint scanners, and speakers and headphones for computers, smartphones, and TVs. He trained, mentored, and coached dozens of project managers around the world, set up engineering design centers in the U.S., China, and Malaysia, and led project management offices that provide structure and business governance for the development of new products.

As an instructor, Eric’s passion is to help students be better prepared for their professional careers by exposing them to industry norms and best practices, and relating what they learn to the realities of how new products get developed in industry.
