Job Outlook: The Degrees and Majors Most in Demand
While nearly all respondents to NACE’s Job Outlook 2017 Spring Update plan to hire graduates at the bachelor’s-degree level from the Class of 2017, more than half expect to hire master’s graduates. More than one-quarter of respondents plan to hire graduates with doctoral degrees, up from just 15.7 percent that had the same plans for the Class of 2016. In terms of demand by academic discipline, graduates with engineering, business, and computer science majors remain most in demand among survey respondents. National Association of Colleges and Employers

Oregon tech in the doldrums? Job growth flatlines
The Silicon Forest is in a slump. Tech was Oregon's hottest sector coming out of the Great Recession, handily outpacing other industries in job and wage growth. By 2013 tech accounted for nearly 12 percent of all Oregon wages, as big a share as wood products in its heyday. Something's changed. The industry didn't add any jobs the last 10 months of 2016 amid a sell-off of the state's biggest technology companies and a sharp decline in startup funding. The Oregonian

This position performs a wide variety of work that supports the quality of education in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the university. Collaboratory Developers work to create new and targeted solutions for education, industry, and research. These positions can include multiple aspects including: electronic design, coding, mechanical design, web coding, hardware fabrication, store clerk sales, and tutorial development.

Student Support Technician Level 1 - OSU College of Business

Computer Programmer - Bat Conservation International
The successful candidate will create a graphical user interface for the generalized estimator as it is developed by statisticians and assist in optimizing computing algorithms. The software will need to manage complex data sets, read data from user forms and data files, pass data to R, call R functions to perform calculations, and display results in graphical and text format. User interface will be programmed in tcltk, Shiny, Python, or another language that integrates well with R.
