Researchers investigate potential of metal material compound

Researchers at Oregon State University are exploring new possibilities and compositions of a metamaterial compound they created: the amorphous laminate material. “Most metals are crystalline — there are strong forces causing the atoms to arrange in a certain way,” said Bill Cowell, a Ph.D. Candidate in electrical engineering with the OSU Materials and Devices Research Group, and the lead author of the study. RESEARCH EXPERIENCES FOR UNDERGRADUATES

TRUST-REU 2012: Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Cyber Security and Trustworthy Systems. The Team for Research in Ubiquitous Secure Technology (TRUST) will sponsor undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, to participate in a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) located at TRUST partner institutions: Cornell University, Vanderbilt University and the University of California, Berkeley. Participating undergraduate students will work with faculty advisors and graduate student mentors throughout the summer performing research and supporting activities in the area of cyber security, privacy, and trustworthy systems.
