Showing off their creativity

Graham Wilkinson and two of his classmates have spent the entire school year working on their senior project. Their goal was to develop a mobile device app for the Android market that could provide self-guided tours at the Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center near Grants Pass. The Walk on the Wildside app was among more than 150 senior projects on display Friday during the OSU College of Engineering’s 2012 Engineering Expo. Corvallis Gazette-Times

Hangartner bringing a broad set of knowledge to the classroom

Dr. Rick Hangartner might seem like a computer science or engineering professor when you meet him, and that is in fact what his background is. Hangartner received his PhD in Computer Science from Oregon State University in 1994. Since the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, Hangartner has been teaching for the new media communications department, even developing a course on the history of broadcasting. Just a gentle reminder that the 2012 EECS Graduation Ceremony is coming up! If you are finishing your degree in Summer 2011 through Fall 2012, you are invited to participate in this fantastic ceremony just for EECS students. To participate, you must register before May 31, 2012 at http://groups.engr.oregonstate.edu/acm/eecs-grad/. All students must acquire their cap and gown ahead of time. Graduate students must obtain their hoods as well. Details

OS THANK U Student Video Contest

The OSU Foundation is hosting its second annual OSUThankU Student Video contest; asking students to create videos thanking our donors for all that they do for the university. The contest is open to any OSU student, now through June 1. The grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card to the OSU Bookstore and the video will be seen by more than 60,000 OSU donors and friends. Details
